The agritourism complex belonging to Bioterra University of Bucharest, is located in Tulcea county, commune Bestepe, village Baltenii de Jos, on St. Gheorghe arm, in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, with direct access from the main road 20 km from the city of Tulcea.

Danube through our country on a total distance of approximately 1000 km, being favorable on the whole route or navigation, its tributaries being the river Tisa and all Romanian rivers. The rivers here are discharged through the three arms of the Danube and reach the Black Sea, which forms the hydrographic network of the country and facilitates the access to the world's oceans.
Delta is the largest delta in Europe and the world lying on wet land with vast water maze. Propitious moments to visit the delta are in May, when a series of migratory birds return here, the weather is very pleasant and flowers are abundant during the summer, when is very hot but in winter, too, for those passionate about the birds study.
Swamps are home to a large number of herons, egrets, ducks, geese and other birds of the prairie as finches, woodpeckers, grey shrike, owls and various songbirds.
The Letea forest is located between Chilia and Sulina arms recognized as a nature reserve. In the depressions between the dunes grow a woody vegetation consisting of many species of trees. To the original forest contributes many climbing plants. Here they were sheltered thousands of species of vertebrates and invertebrates, many of which are unique national, European and even global.
Danube Delta is area with the lowest elevation of the country, being an alluvial plain. Areas of land, usually at the river, is about 13%, most of the delta is covered with marshes and lakes.
A representative image is the exotic landscape, this is a real nature reserve where cohabiting couple hundred species of birds, studied and visited by the franch famous scientist Jacques Cousteau.
Saint Gheorghe Arm (Sfantul Gheorghe) - the arm of the delta winding, is the quietest of the three arms, with some straights channeled and fishing village with the same name, it is beautiful and isolated despite the fact that many visitors, especially in Bucharest, buys holiday homes in this area.
Seen from the hills of Tulcea, the Danube Delta is crossed by a green expanse of silver stripes. Both in the river delta, and in the river-sea meets a very rich vegetation. Can be found mixed forests (black poplar, aspen, oak, wild apples and pears tree, willow, elm). Danube Delta is a natural paradise of indigenous birds or passage (over 280 species). Here, you can meet pelicans, pygmy cormorants, red crested pochard, tailed eagle, great white egret, spoonbill, eagles, graylag goose, ducks, goose summer, gadwall, partridge and quail. Among mammals: wild boar, wolf, hare, wild cat and many other water-loving animals: mink, otter, little ermine.
In the river or lakes are present in many species of fish: the starlet, obleu (fluvial), cod, sturgeon (maritime), carp, catfish, perch, pike, barbel (freshwater species).
